Compositions by Nuno Rebelo over excerpts of poems by António Franco Alexandre and texts by Vera Mantero. Originally, these compositions were created in 2001 for the piece “How to roll happily around an inner emptiness”, a choreography by Vera Mantero for the Gulbenkian Ballet.
The invitation by Jorge Pires to Nuno Rebelo, to present a project at the Book Fair in Lisbon (2004) led to the preparation of these compositions for a concert and gave origin to this quartet.
Shifting between parts of written music and parts of improvisation, rigorously structured in the context of each composition, the music of this group presents its own poetics that are established in parallel with the poems by António Franco Alexandre and the texts by Vera Mantero, being able to be located somewhere between contemporary music that owes nothing to the Conservatory and a chamber Pop that has nothing to do with a song.
