Me Here, You There is a listening initiation piece. One that listens to the other. Starting from sound recordings of words taken from different contexts, such as motivational speeches, announcement of a lottery prize, YouTube tutorials or interviews of children in different parts of Portugal, this piece explores the beauty and power of orality. Not only in the ways of speaking, but also in the way things are said. And it is precisely on this border that exists between the intimate space of (me, here) and in contact with the other (you, there) that this piece is born. Behind a “word” there is always someone who uses this linguistic mechanism as a gesture of approximation.
